It’s that time once more . Designer of the day is back! 

Today’s designer: Robin Callan

This is a awesome design . The thing that gets me time and again about design is that you can’t go half way. Too often people decide they want a room to look a specific way or see a design in a magazine and try to copy the style, but part of the way through they get scared and the room looks bare at best.

However , Robin Callan’s room is a testimony once again that committing to an idea really does pay off. Every part of this design is cohesive and well thought out. The wonderful variety of texture, color, and patterns permit this modern and eclectic mix to remain warm and inviting. I love the limestone wall. It is such a stunning feature next to the smooth-textured wall. The colors used also add a calm, yet fun and bright feel to the space. 

Probably my favorite part of this room is the oversized piece of art work on the wall. Wow. This is such a fun way to add a funky and energetic element to the room. 

I am a big fan of this space, as you can probably tell. still, this is just an opinion, as always. I, personally, don’t think that there can be a right response when it comes to design. Do what you like. One of my favorite rooms is at the homes of one of my friends. I asked her how she put the room together. She told me that she didn’t ever have a theme. She just picked lots of things that she liked and put them all in a room. 

Moral of the story: Go for the gusto!
